Lateral aspect of the elbow

 

• Description

 

Site of attachment for various forearm muscles and tendons, including the

 

- Extensor carpi radialis brevis,

- Extensor digitorum, and

- Extensor carpi ulnaris

 

• Treatment Considerations

 

Use caution and avoid direct pressure, deep or aggressive techniques on the lateral epicondyle.

 

It can be sensitive and prone to inflammation in conditions like lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow).

 

Gentle and superficial techniques may be used with care.
